Markovskaya is from Vladivostok where she graduated from the Department of Journalism at the Far Eastern Federal University. She worked for the Vladivostok State TV and Radio Company, and later became a correspondent for the federal television channel Zvezda.
Now her career has taken a big step forward as she has been appointed the new official Ministry of Defense spokesperson.
Rossiyana, who is unusually named after her homeland, is a tech savvy journalist and has an active Instagram account like many in today’s generation.
People rushed to her Instagram and Facebook accounts to check out this young new official and her everyday life.
She has already earned herself the nickname “Defense cutie” (“Oboronyasha” in Russian).
Markovskaya can also play music instruments and sing as she has demonstrated in a few videos she shared on her social media pages.
According to some social media users Rossiyana has ousted Natalia Poklonskaya, the former Crimean prosecutor, who became an internet sensation even outside Russia, in the fame department.
