MADRID (Sputnik) — Spanish Attorney General Jose Manuel Maza Martin died on Saturday in one of the hospitals in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said.
"Attorney General Jose Manuel Maza Martin died. I am thankful for the work for the benefit of the state. My sincere condolences to the family, friends and companions. Rest in peace," Rajoy wrote on his Twitter page.

According to El Mundo newspaper, the attorney general had been hospitalized on Saturday because of an infection.
Maza, 66, was appointed the country's attorney general in 2016. He visited Argentina to take part in the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors.
