UK police seized two mastiff-type dogs (banned in the UK) after they attacked and brutally killed Chester, a two-year-old beagle, who was carelessly playing on a rugby field.
Janet Payne, 39, Chester's dog walker, who was taking care of five dogs at the same time, said that she was forced to helplessly watch the brutal scene.
"I was shouting to Chester to come and I looked up and saw two big dogs with something between them. I just knew. I screamed," Payne recalls, cited by Manchester Evening News.
When she tried to intervene and asked the owner of the bloodthirsty dogs for help, he reportedly simply replied: "Why the f*** wasn't your dog on a lead?"

Within a few seconds, Chester was dead. When the dog owner managed to get one of the dogs off of the beagle, he walked away leaving Payne "screaming in horror."
"Eventually the blood-covered dog ran after him, he didn't even look back," Payne recalled.
After the woman called the police, the two dogs had been seized under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The dog's owner Gary, 28, rushed to the scene when he learned of the heart-breaking news and found his beloved pet ripped to death.
Chester was a wedding gift to Gary from his wife Jennifer Thornley. The dog was the couple's "best friend" whom they "absolutely loved."
"He was so friendly, so trusting. I don't know what we are going to do without him and I've never seen Gary like this," the young woman was quoted as saying. "I've seen the video — those dogs enjoyed it. What if this happens to a child? We need to do something."

I suggest people are careful around Eccles until the owner is found. He seems dangerous to be near, especially with a dog. https://t.co/lCNSN46pW0
