MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The attacker rammed his motorcycle into a police vehicle on Friday morning in the northern Pakistani city of Peshawar, after which he detonated a bomb killing senior police official Mohammad Ashraf Noor and his gunman, local media reported.

The six officers who were injured in the blast have been reportedly taken to a local hospital for treatment.

No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.

Incidents like the recent one are not a rare occurence as Pakistan has long been suffering from regular terrorist attacks due to a number of jihadist groups active in the region.
