Two women allegedly involved in abusive practices against pupils at a Beijing kindergarten have been detained, police said Saturday.
One of the women, a 22-year-old teacher surnamed Liu, allegedly involved in misconduct against children, was detained on Saturday, according to AFP.
Another woman, a 31-year-old Beijing native, had been detained on Thursday over "using the internet to fabricate and disseminate fake news" on the child abuse issue.
Following a scandal that broke out this week, Beijing authorities have called on RYB Education Inc. to remove the head of its kindergarten where incidents of teacher misconduct against kids took place, state media Xinhua reported on Saturday, citing a Chaoyang district spokesperson.
