McCain, who chose not to write a lengthy post-election analysis after his loss to Barack Obama in 2008, offered some choice words for Democratic counterpart Hillary Clinton, who has been busy promoting her post-election retrospective 'What Happened', in which she blames a number of people for her loss.
"You've got to understand that you can't rewrite history," McCain said. "One of the almost irresistible impulses you have when you lose is to somehow justify why you lost and how you were mistreated: 'I did the right thing! I Did' The hardest thing to do is to just shut up."
"You've got to move on. This is Hillary's problem right now: She doesn't have anything to do," the senator quipped.
McCain's remarks have been picked up on social media, with users breaking out in giggles over the senator's directness.
