Rare Florida Panther Gets Struck by Car, Dies
18:58 GMT 28.11.2017 (Updated: 11:56 GMT 06.08.2022) An endangered Florida panther was killed after being struck by a vehicle, putting yet another dent in the already dwindling population of these magnificent creatures.
Another endangered feline native to the US state of Florida died in an apparent vehicle collision.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the remains of the two-year old feline were found on a parkway in Lee County.
At least 34 out of 42 panthers that were killed during 2016 perished due to being hit by cars, the agency added.

The Florida panther is an endangered population of cougar that inhabits the swamps and forests of Southern Florida. There are currently about 230 of them living in the wild.
