The Queen has granted permission for the wedding to take place at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle in May 2018, Kensington Palace said in an official statement.
The royal family intends to pay for the wedding, including church service, flowers and music.

The announcement also says that Markle, a Protestant, will be baptized in the Church of England and will become a British citizen before the wedding, though that will take time.

Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and Markle's future sister-in-law, said that she was "thrilled," adding that "it's a really happy time for any couple."

The couple is going to carry out their first official engagement together in Nottingham on Friday, according to the royal residence.
