MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The DVD production of Mikhail Glinka's opera 'Ruslan and Lyudmila' greeted audiences at the Bolshoi Theatre after its renovation, conducted by Vladimir Jurowski and directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov.
"I'm very happy [that this wonderful] production has won the Diapason d'Or prize, … and it is a very important event for me. We did it together with Vladimir Jurowski, an amazing conductor and collaborator, for the Bolshoi six years ago in 2011. We did it for the reopening of the historic building, of the historic stage of the Bolshoi after seven years of renovation," Tcherniakov said after receiving the award.
