US actress and model Pamela Anderson said that the victims should have "known what they were getting into" when they agreed to meet with certain men in hotel rooms.
The Hollywood star stated she was not surprised by the allegations made against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein, speaking on NBC's "Today" show.
"It was common knowledge that certain producers in Hollywood or people [should be avoided]," the actress said, recalling her personal encounter with Weinstein whom she called "intimidating."
At the same time, the actress blamed Weinstein's alleged victims for their lack of "common sense."
"If someone answers the door in a bathrobe, you know, leave," Anderson said. "But Hollywood is very seductive," she added.
According to her, even if the meetings were arranged by agents, women shouldn't have been attending them alone.
"Then go with them," the model continued. "That's what they should have done. Sent somebody with them. I just think there's easy ways to remedy that. That's not a good excuse."
Anderson's statements have caused vivid reactions among social media users.
Some of them called the actress's interview "great" and thanked her for sharing her "wisdom."
There's a lot of wisdom in what you said! Merci!💗

Others, however, called her statements "wrong" and said she should have more empathy for the victims.
There's still a disconnect. That's an awful lot of judgement to the vulnerable. By the time you were their ages you had been abused 3x, for many this was their 1st. Their instincts had not yet been cultivated.

Well she certainly speaks from a place of moral authority *eye roll*
