Edible paintings created on plates by Li Xiaohua from Changchun City have been recently winning a lot of attention on Asian social media platforms. The woman is not a professional artist — she is just a mother, who was trying to end the classic mealtime battles many young parents have to go through, and it seems she has found a brilliant (and yummy!) way to do that.
To encourage her three-year-old finicky son to eat, Li draws cartoon characters, using plates as canvases, a mixture of traditional soy bean paste and soy sauce as paints and chopsticks as brushes.
The woman mixes together and then dips chopsticks and spoons in the mixture to create popular cartoon characters on empty plates. The resultlooks incredible! Her set of edible paintings includes Paddington Bear, Peppa Pig, Minions, Kung Fu Panda, Totoro and Disney princess Elsa from Frozen.
