Yunes Doleh, 62, was arrested after violating a restraining order filed by Mazen Dayem, his son-in-law. The altercation occurred in November during a funeral, when Doleh started intimidating Dayem using his bushy toupee in an apparent attempt to impersonate the Tasmanian Devil.
"He walked in as I was already there. He removed his wig, made hand gestures. It’s just a very large fear of mine, his damn wig. Him and his hair reminds me of the Tasmanian Devil hair. I truly and genuinely have a large fear of wigs now. It’s a genuine fear. I have nightmares," Dayem told the New York Post.
As Dayem explained, he has an acute phobia of Taz the Tasmanian Devil, a Warner Bros cartoon character, and his father-in-law has capitalized on this fear since 2013.
Doleh now faces charges of criminal contempt and aggravated harassment, with his attorney describing the entire situation as a "family dispute."
