With 2017 coming to an end, Forbes has released a list of actors whose movies made the most money this year. Take a look at the top-10 Hollywood's "golden geese" in Sputnik's gallery.
The magazine compiled a list of the top-grossing actors of the year based on data from the Box Office Mojo portal. From Wonder Woman to Spiderman, there were plenty of favorites this year, but who dominated the top ten highest grossing actors list. Let’s take a look.
Vin Diesel is the highest-grossing actor at the box office in 2017. The eighth movie in the Fast and the Furious franchise brought in a total of $1.23 billion worldwide.
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), who is also in the Fast and the Furious movies with Vin Diesel, came second in the highest-grossing actor list at $1.5 billion.
British actress Emma Watson came in at number 4 in the list of highest-grossing actors of 2017. Her “Beauty and the Beast” movie grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.
Johnny Depp, is in the top five on the Forbes list, thanks to Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, which grossed $800 million and Murder on the Orient Express, which grossed another $300 million at the box office.
Daisy Ridley made the list at number 6 with two movies this year. The much anticipated blockbuster Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Murder on the Orient Express together grossed $1.08 billion.
British actor John Boyega rounds out the Forbes highest grossing actor’s list at number 10 with the latest Star Wars movie The Last Jedi which has grossed a respectable $815 million so far.
