Turkey launched its Olive Branch military campaign against Kurdish militias in Northern Syria on January 20, seeking to eliminate what it considers to be a terrorist threat. Damascus regards Ankara's actions as violation of its sovereignty.

Opponents of the Turkish operation against Kurdish formations in Syria took to the streets of Berlin on March 3. They call on the European Union, NATO and the United Nations to stop the offensive.
