International Women's Day is celebrated across the world on March 8. The Russian president decided to congratulate Russian women in a "traditional" way, by reading some poetic verses.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Russia's women on International Women's Day and, in accordance with a "wonderful tradition," he devoted a beautiful piece of poetry by Russian poet Andrei Dementiev to them.
