During the event, Putin exchanged a couple of remarks with renowned musician and conductor Yuri Bashmet and at one point, with tongue in cheek, briefly borrowed Bashmet's glass of champagne, took a sip and handed it back to him. Shortly thereafter, the Russian president's press secretary, Dmitry Peskov, no less ironically congratulated the conductor with "the glass acquisition."
