Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir has ordered the release of all political prisoners held in the country, the state news agency SUNA said.
The decree came in response to the appeals from political parties and groups participating in the country's ongoing national cooperation to grant detainees the opportunity to engage in the nation’s political process, SUNA reported.

In Februaty, a presidential adviser had said in a statement that President Omar Hassan al-Bashir had ordered more than 80 political detainees to be released.
All of them had been arrested a month earlier after protests about high prices and tough economic conditions that turned violent.
