The police said they were investigating the blast, the latest in a series to hit the city.
"The blast was caused by an explosive placed near a park in the Macrorayan, an area of central Kabul," said police spokesman Basir Mujahid.
According to a health ministry official, one person was wounded.

On May 13, at least six people were killed and 20 more injured in an explosion near a customs finance department in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad.
Afghanistan has long been torn in political, social and security turmoil, primarily due to the hostilities between government troops and the Taliban radical movement.
