Earlier, it was reported that the sirens went off in the Eshkol and Kissufim regions near the south of the Strip.

The news comes in the light of the recent escalation of tensions and the exchange of fire between the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli forces. On Tuesday, the IDF said that numerous mortars had been fired at various targets in Israel from the Gaza Strip, with the Iron Dome aerial defense system intercepting most of them.
Tensions between the Israeli and Palestinians flared up amid the Great March of Return rally. Mass Palestinian protests began in Gaza on March 30 and lasted until the so-called Nakba Day on May 15 — the day that commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian exodus that occurred as a result of Israel's declaration of independence in 1948.
