Reports about the emergency landing have been confirmed by the press service of Kutaisi Airport; however, no exact reasons for the move have been announced yet.
The Romanian press service said an emergency command center had been set up on the airport premises. A team of firefighters, sappers and a number of ambulances have been dispatched there.
“We expect the check-up of the plane, passengers and baggage to round off by 8 p.m. local time, following which those responsible will be able to report on if the plane will be directed to the Polish capital,” the press secretary for the national company of Bucharest's airports, Valentin Iordake, told journalists.
