The suspect arrested in the US state of Florida following a probe into the packages with explosives that were mailed to various people and organizations has been identified as Cesar Sayoc, Fox News reported citing law enforcement sources. According to the broadcaster, he is a man from the city of Aventura in his 50s who had previous arrests for terrorist threats.
Several of the packages containing pipe bombs were processed at a US Postal Service facility in Florida’s city of Opa-locka, which is located less than 10 miles away from Aventura, according to the media report.

Earlier in the day, CNN reporter Shimon Prokupecz wrote on Twitter that the federal authorities have arrested a man from Florida in connection to the mailed bomb packages.

The US Justice Department confirmed the arrest of the suspect, also announcing a press conference on the issue.
