According to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) Spokesman Brig. Gen. Ronen Manelis, the army discovered a sixth and largest tunnel crossing into the country and is now working on its destruction, eliminating the threat posed by it.
He added, however, that "there is more work to be done to uncover and neutralise [the tunnels]".

Earlier this month, the IDF spokesman announced it would take several more weeks to complete the destruction of the underground passages.
Israel and Hezbollah last clashed in 2006, with Israeli forces invading Lebanon after Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid.
