Some flash mobs have brief lifespans, while others continue to grow more and more popular with each day and each year. No Pants Subway Ride, also known as No Trousers on the Tube Ride, is one that has managed to transform into a real tradition.
No Pants Subway Ride was started by a comedic performance art group Improv Everywhere in 2002. In 2006, almost 150 people participated in the event in New York City, and 18 years after beginning, the flash mob has occurred in at least 30 cities around the world.
