New Delhi (Sputnik): Presenting its interim budget just before the polls scheduled for April-May this year, the Indian government today announced a slew of measures promising to bring succour to the country's farmers, middle class and workforce.
The announcements made by the Narendra Modi-led government includes a waiver of taxes on personal income up to Indian rupees 500,000 ($7,000), an incentive of Indian rupees 6,000 ($85) per annum for farmers with less than two hectares of land and a mega pension scheme for the unorganised sector workers.
