"The German leadership has repeatedly spoken in favor of preserving current system of strategic stability, including the INF and New START [Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty]… However, Berlin has fully agreed with Washington demanding that Russia fulfill ultimatum requirements and has not questioned US position in NATO. Such an approach, which ignores the facts, arguments and justified concerns of Russia, is unlikely to help reach a compromise. I would like to call for greater objectivity on the part of our German partners," the diplomat said.

On February 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Moscow also suspended its obligations under the treaty in response to the US move.
The INF Treaty, signed by the United States and the Soviet Union in 1987, bans all ground-launched ballistic missiles with ranges between 310 and 3,400 miles.
