The European Union extended individual sanctions against Russia over Ukraine for six months and added eight more names to the sanctions list over the incident with Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait, a source in Brussels told Sputnik.
"The ambassadors of the EU countries agreed on the extension of the restrictive measures against those responsible for the violation of the territorial integrity of Ukraine," a source said.
The source added that the list will include the names of eight more individuals. The decision still has to be approved by the Council of the European Union.

On 25 November, three Ukrainian Navy ships crossed the Russian maritime border, entered its territorial waters, which were temporarily closed, and began moving toward the Kerch Strait. The strait serves as an entrance into the Sea of Azov. The vessels and their crew were detained by Russia after failing to respond to a demand to stop.
