Girl Catches Snake - Sputnik International

The girl shared a lesson showing how to catch a dangerous massive python. She explained her technique in the post's caption, writing that the reason she grabbed the head of the reptile was "not only to not get bit but it's also less stress on the snake."

The girl, Savi Serrott, posted the footage and accompanying text on Instagram in response to numerous people earlier asking her how she catches snakes.

Noting that some people oppose the catching and euthanizing of snakes, Savi underscored the importance of doing so:

"I have lots of them at home and they're my children; but Burmese pythons are causing lots of harm to the Everglades. We will never get rid of them all but each python we remove is saving hundreds of native species and they're treated with respect before being put down."

Since a couple people have asked how we catch the pythons, here is a video. Every catch is different but this is how we typically capture them. The reason I grabbed the head is not only to not get bit but it’s also less stress on the snake. If I grabbed her body she would freak out and I would have to drag her up the levee to eventually get her head anyway. Lots of people disagree with catching and humanely euthanizing pythons but all I can say is try to understand why it’s being done. I am a huge snake lover, I have lots of them at home and they’re my children; but Burmese pythons are causing lots of harm to the Everglades.
