WATCH Russian Tu-22M3M Bomber Testing Its Abilities
07:48 GMT 01.06.2019 (Updated: 07:51 GMT 01.06.2019) The newest model of Russia's Tu-22M bomber performed its maiden flight on 28 December 2018. It has a modern digital glass cockpit and engine controls and electronic warfare countermeasures, as well as the ability to use precision air-to-surface weapons.
Russian TV Channel Zvezda has provided footage of the cutting-edge supersonic aircraft, Tupolev Tu-22M3M (NATO reporting name Backfire) participating in tests, proving its abilities under different weather conditions and altitudes. The swift warplane takes off with outspread wings but later folds them in order to shift into an arrow-like form.
