Syria has been in the state of civil war since 2011, with government forces fighting against numerous opposition groups as well as militant and terrorist organizations.

Russia and Turkey are both guarantors of the Syrian ceasefire alongside Iran. Russia also sends regular humanitarian aid shipments to Syria and is helping the country rebuild from ruins as the eight-year civil war subsides.

*al-Nusra Front is a terrorist group banned in Russia and many other countries.
