In March, more than 130 people were killed and dozens wounded in a Fulani village in Mali’s Ogossagou-Peulh.

Unidentified gunmen reportedly attacked a village in the central part of the country on 9 June, killing 95 people, according to the Malian Ministry of Defence.

"Right now we have 95 dead civilians. The bodies are burned, we are continuing to look for others," an official in Koundou district said.

A Malian security source at the site of the massacre said that "a Dogon village has been virtually wiped out".

Dogon hunters are part of the Bambara, which makes up the largest Mandé people ethnic group in Mali.

Clashes between the Dogon and the Fulani over access to land and water have become more frequent over the last few months.
