UK Prime Minister hopeful Rory Stewart has been eliminated from the contest to replace Theresa May, according to a statement by the 1922 Committee.
According to the results presented by the committee, Boris Johnson received 143 votes, Jeremy Hunt got 54 votes, Michael Gove and Sajid Javid received 51 and 38 votes respectively, while Rory Stewart got 27 votes.
Now, the candidates will face further rounds of votes until only two of them are left. After that, one of them will be elected party leader and PM in the week starting 22 July, taking on the considerable task of ending the Brexit deadlock.
