Louisiana State University has reported an armed intruder on its Twitter account, saying that there is the police on the scene and advising people to "Run, Hide or Fight".

Shortly after alerts went out, WBRZ reported that the situation was under control, however, the university refuted the reports, stressing that the situation was ongoing and advising to continue to avoid the area or remain in a safe place.

Some time later the university said that LSU police was still investigating the ongoing situation.
Later the university said on its twitter account that LSUPD had determined there was no threat after investigating into the report of an armed subject at Coates Hall.
Update: LSUPD has investigated the report of an armed subject at Coates Hall and has determined there was no threat. LSU is returning to normal operations.
