For Thursday's qualification, candidates had to collect donations from at least 200,000 individuals and gain at least 4 percent in four polls or 6 percent in two early-state polls.
PBS NewsHour and Politico are hosting the final Democratic presidential primary debate of 2019. There will be no opening statements. Candidates have 75 seconds to answer questions from the moderators and each candidate has 45 seconds for rebuttals or follow-ups, as well as a minute-long closing statement.
According to recent polls cited by US-based media, former Vice President Joseph Biden remains the leading candidate. Three candidates remain within close distance, however; Pete Buttigieg, Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.
The event is taking place one day after the Democratic-controlled US House of Representatives historically voted to impeach US President Donald Trump.
