The army has issued a statement saying that Israeli forces had apprehended a man accused of ramming his car into a group of soldiers on Thursday.
Israeli police earlier said they were investigating a car-ramming incident in Jerusalem as a terror attack, The Jerusalem Post newspaper reported, citing a police spokesperson.

Earlier in the day, the Israeli medical service said that 14 people were injured as a car rammed into a group of pedestrians in Jerusalem. One person was said to be in critical condition.
“MDA emergency medical technicians and Paramedics treated and evacuated to hospitals 14 injured: 1 in serious condition (to Shaare Zedek), 1 moderate (to Hadassah Ein Karem) and 12 injured lightly”, the MDA wrote on its Twitter page.

According to The Jerusalem Post newspaper, the accident was a deliberate attack, with the driver having escaped from the site.
