A 3.5-magnitude earthquake rocked the Indian capital on Sunday evening, the country's Meteorological Department said, adding that the epicentre of the quake was east Delhi.
Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Satya Narayan Pradhan said the quake struck at a depth of 8 km at 5:45 p.m. IST and shared more details on Twitter.

"So far we haven't received any report of any damage to property or human life. Our control room is on the job", he told News18.
Once the news broke, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter, saying that he "hopes everyone is safe", as tremors were felt in the Indian capital.

No injuries or damage has been reported so far, but local residents immediately rushed to social media to describe the tremors and even shared some videos.
