Italy Records 431 COVID-19 Deaths in 24 Hours, Lowest in Three Weeks

Italy has recorded 431 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, which is the smallest overnight increase in the country in three weeks, Angelo Borrelli, the head of the National Civil Protection Department, said on Sunday, adding that the total number of COVID-19 fatalities stood at 19,899.

This is the lowest daily death toll since March 19, when 427 fatalities were recorded. At the same time, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country has risen by more than 4,000 and now stands at 156,363.

Globally, as of Sunday, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases nearly reached 1.7 million, while the death toll surpassed 100,000.
