Aerial Footage of Deserted Milan as COVID-19 Lockdown Continues
Milan is located in the northern Italian province of Lombardy, one of the worst coronavirus-hit regions in the country. The nation itself has reported 159,516 cases since the beginning of the outbreak, making it the second most-affected country after Spain.
Follow a live feed from Milan in northern Italy streamed from a drone as the city has been put under strict lockdown restrictions prompted by the coronavirus pandemic.
The measures have left the city virtually abandoned as people are urged to stay home, while most non-essential organisations are closed.
Lombardy was the first region in Europe to impose a lockdown, setting an example to other parts of the continent to do the same.
Italy has registered 159,516 cases of the new coronavirus and 20,465 fatalities, according to WHO information dated 1:00 pm CEST.
