The United States has the highest case count in the world, with over 1,770,000, including more than 103,700 fatalities.
Earlier, President Donald Trump said that the United States was terminating its relationship with the World Health Organisation (WHO) and redirecting funds to other global health needs.

SEOUL (Sputnik) - South Korea confirmed 27 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 11,468, while the coronavirus-related death toll increased by 1 and reached 270, the Health Ministry's Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said on Sunday.
According to KCDC, 15 new cases are connected to local transmission, while 12 more are imported.
Seven people have fully recovered from COVID-19 over the given period, and the number of recoveries reached 10,405 — more than 90 percent of all cases.
South Korea has conducted over 910,000 coronavirus tests since the start of the outbreak. According to health authorities, 30 percent of COVID-19 carriers in the country are asymptomatic.
The total number of coronavirus cases has reached 181,482, including 8,500 fatalities, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for infectious diseases said on Friday.
MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) - Mexico now has over 87,500 confirmed coronavirus cases, an increase of more than 22,000 over one week, and 364 new deaths from COVID-19 were registered in the past 24 hours, the country's Deputy Health Minister Hugo Lopez-Gatell has announced.
"Unfortunately, 9,779 people have died amid the spread of this epidemic", Lopez-Gatell said at a Saturday press conference broadcast on Twitter.
On Saturday, 2,885 new coronavirus cases were confirmed in Mexico bringing the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 87,512.
A week ago, Mexico's COVID-19 death toll was 7,179 and the total number of confirmed cases was 65,856. Thus the country has seen a weekly increase of more than 22,000 in the number of confirmed cases and a weekly increase of over 2,500 in the number of fatalities.
On Friday, Mexico reported over 3,220 new coronavirus cases, including more than 370 new deaths from COVID-19.
Mexico started to lift some of the coronavirus restrictions in areas unaffected by the epidemic on 18 May and plans to begin easing lockdown measures in other regions starting from Monday.
DOHA (Sputnik) - Qatar has registered a record 2,355 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours, which brings the country's tally to 55,262, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.
In addition, no new coronavirus-related fatalities were reported in the Middle Eastern country, and the death toll stayed at 36.
At the same time, Qatar has also confirmed a record number of recoveries in the past day — 5,235 patients have fully recovered, taking the total to 25,839. As of now, Qatar has 29,387 active COVID-19 cases.
According to health authorities, new cases have been registered among foreign workers and Qatari citizens.
Qatar is allowing most businesses to reopen from Sunday on, except for the ones inside big shopping malls.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus worldwide has surpassed 6 million, according to data provided by the Johns Hopkins University, which analyses the information of federal and local authorities, media and other sources.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the disease has exceeded 367,000, and more than 2.5 million COVID-19 patients have recovered since the pandemic.
The United States remains the worst-hit country with the highest number of those infected — 1,760,740 — and the highest COVID-19 death toll — 103,472. It is now followed by Brazil that has recorded more than 465,000 infections since the outbreak.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The World Health Organisation said Saturday that the global coronavirus tally had topped 5.8 million, with 362,705 people dying from COVID-19.
The UN health agency said in the latest situation report that 116,048 new cases had been recorded in the past day, while further 5,017 patients had died.
Americas continue to lead the count with 2.67 million cases, followed by Europe with 2.12 million. Africa brings up the rear with 96,902 cases.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Moscow saw 69 new COVID-19 deaths in the past day, bringing the Russian capital's death toll to 2,477, the city's coronavirus response centre said Saturday.
"Another 69 patients, who were diagnosed with pneumonia and tested positive for the coronavirus infection, have died in Moscow", the statement read.
Seventy-eight COVID-19 patients died in the Russian capital, the country's epicentre of the outbreak, in the previous day.
MOSCOW, May 30 (Sputnik) - The Russian Health Ministry has approved the first domestic drug, called Avifavir, for treating coronavirus patients, according to a new entry to the national drug registry.
The medicine was developed by the Russian Direct Investment Fund, a sovereign wealth fund, and ChemRar, a Russian pharmaceutical investment and R&D group.
MADRID, May 30 (Sputnik) - Spain has confirmed 271 new cases of the coronavirus over the past 24 hours as the number of cases per day continues to increase since May 28, the country's Health Ministry said on Saturday.
The update brings the country's total tally to 239,228. Of these new cases, 95 were registered in Madrid and 88 in Catalonia. As for the increase in the number of fatalities and recoveries, the ministry no longer publishes the relevant data per day.
Over the past seven days, Spain recorded 43 coronavirus-related fatalities, bringing the country's death toll to 27,125.
On April 28, the authorities introduced a four-stage plan for lifting the lockdown, with the regions moving from stage to stage based on their epidemiological situation. The first round began on May 11.
After the gradual removal of some restrictions, the epidemiological situation in the country continues to improve, with small hotbeds of the disease being detected only in four regions - Ceuta, a Spanish autonomous city on the north coast of Africa bordered by Morocco; Lleida, a city in northeastern Catalonia; Totana, a municipality in the region of Murcia; and Cuenca, a city in the Castile-La Mancha autonomous community.
The Spanish Health Ministry has allowed sports clubs to conduct full team training sessions starting June 1 as part of the gradual lockdown exit, according to the ministry's statement released on Saturday.
"Professional sports clubs or Sports Public Limited Companies may carry out complete training sessions ... complying with the corresponding prevention and hygiene measures," the statement said, as quoted by the Spanish Marca sport newspaper.
The ministry allowed athletes to use changing rooms and hold work meetings with up to 15 participants at a time, including the coaches.
"For the purposes of the provisions of this order, full training shall be understood as the development of tasks aimed at the phase leading up to competition, including exhaustive tactical work, and joint actions in groups of various athletes up to a maximum of fourteen people," the statement read.
Spains's football championship La Liga Santander, which was suspended due to the pandemic, will resume competitions on June 11 without fans. Media personnel will be allowed to be present at the matches.
This year's first Formula 1 races will take place in Austria on July 5 and 12, Health Minister Rudi Anschober was cited as saying on Saturday, after months of delay over the pandemic.
The minister said the races in the city of Spielberg will be held without spectators, according to the ORF broadcaster.
Strict protective measures will be put in place and all pilots and their team members will be tested for the new coronavirus before traveling to Austria.
The Formula 1 Granx Prix was to kicked off in Australia in March. The Austrian broadcaster estimated that race organizers still had enough time to fit up to 15 events in this season's schedule.
The number of coronavirus cases in the United States has risen by 24,266 in the last 24 hours, showing a slight daily uptick, while the number of deaths has grown by 1,193, according to the data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
On Friday, the COVID-19 tally in the US increased by 22,577, while the number of fatalities grew by 1,199.
The US has now a total of 1,747,087 cases, with the death toll of 102,836. A total of 406,446 COVID-19 patients have recovered since the outbreak.
The United States is leading the world in the number of reported novel coronavirus cases as well as fatalities.
There are 5,952,145 confirmed novel coronavirus cases worldwide and 365,437 COVID-19-related deaths, according to the data.
The country's authorities have announced that the general lockdown measures will be extended until 30 June, though malls can open starting 8 June.
Health authorities in Iran have detected 2,282 new coronavirus cases over the past day, down from the 2,819 detected the day before, spokesman for the Iranian Health Ministry Kianush Jahanpur said on Saturday.
Over the past 24 hours, 56 patients died of the disease, Jahanpur said in a situation report, as broadcast by the IRINN channel. Since the start of the outbreak, 7,734 people who had tested positive the disease have died, while 116,827 patients have recovered.
The number of new COVID-19 cases in Iran has begun to rise again since the start of May after the authorities began to ease lockdown measures. Iran has so far confirmed a total of 148,950 cases of the disease.
More than 25,000 Russians are waiting to be brought home from abroad amid the coronavirus-related restrictions, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday, adding that another 10 repatriation flights are planned for the near future.
"According to the lists that are verified through the operational headquarters, 25,200 [Russians are willing to return home from abroad]. About 10 flights are planned for the next few days," Lavrov said at a session of the Russian Security Council.
In a bid to curb the virus, Russia suspended regular and charter flights with foreign countries on March 27. The exceptions are evacuation flights, as well as cargo, mail, sanitary and humanitarian flights.
Clinical trials of a vaccine against the coronavirus in Russia are planned to begin within the next two weeks, Health Minister Mikhail Murashko said on Saturday.
"We should understand that the effect of inoculations used for preventing [the coronavirus] should be safe for the population, these tests are underway today, and we plan to begin clinical trials within the next two weeks," Murashko said during a video address dedicated to cancer treatment amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Russia has registered 8,952 COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours (8,572 yesterday), bringing the total count to 396,575, the national coronavirus response center said on Saturday.
"Over the past 24 hours, 8,952 COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in 83 regions. Of these, 3,747 (or 41.9 percent) have been detected actively, with people showing no clinical symptoms," the center said in a statement.
This brings the total tally to 396,575 (+2.3 percent) in 85 regions across Russia.
Indian health ministry data shows that at least 265 people have died in last 24 hours. The total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 has risen to 4,971.
India's wealthiest state, Maharashtra, accounted for 50% of the total fatalities in India alone.
The total number of coronavirus cases in India has surged to 173,763. Within the last 24 hours, more than 10,000 people have recovered, the highest in a single day, so far.
Germany has confirmed 738 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, with the total count reaching 181,196, the Robert Koch Institute said on Saturday.
The death toll has grown by 39 to 8,489 people within the same period of time.
A day earlier, the country confirmed 741 new cases and 39 fatalities.
Almost 165,000 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Germany since the beginning of the outbreak.
