The Justice Department has previously filed a lawsuit to block the release of the book citing concerns that it might contain classified information. Bolton's memoir, reportedly containing juicy details about the inner workings of the Trump Administration, has stirred controversy in recent days after excerpts were published in the media.

John Bolton must pay a "big price" for publishing classified data in "massive amounts" in his book, US President Donald Trump said on Twitter.

US District Judge Royce Lamberth earlier greenlighted the publication of the book by former National Security Adviser John Bolton in a ruling issued on Saturday.

"While Bolton's unilateral conduct raises grave national security concerns, the government has not established that an injunction is an appropriate remedy", the ruling states.

The judge previously stated that it would be practically impossible to take legal action to recall all copies of the new book due to be published next Tuesday.

Politico reported on Friday that some 200,000 copies of the book have already been sent to book stores across the United States and most big media companies in the country now have their own copies.

On Tuesday, the US Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Bolton to block the publication of his book for reportedly containing highly classified information.

The tell-all book "The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir," accuses US President Donald Trump of misconduct in a number of cases, including asking China for help in the 2020 election. Bolton also claims that Trump was manipulated and easily influenced by the leaders of China, Russia, Turkey, and North Korea.
