New Delhi (Sputnik): Earlier in April, India’s anti-terror unit registered a case under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) after arresting Mohammad Rashid from Uttar Pradesh in January. The state’s anti-terrorist squad claimed Rashid was in contact with Pakistan’s Inter- Services Intelligence (ISI) spy agency and had visited them twice.

India’s anti-terror body the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested on Sunday a man from Gujarat who is suspected of working for Pakistan’s spy agency, the ISI, officials revealed on Monday.

According to a senior NIA official, the accused has been identified as Rajakbhai Kumbhar, a supervisor at Mundra dockyard. He was held after being found to be in contact with Mohammad Rashid, who was arrested earlier this year.

“Kumbhar sent photos of sensitive, strategically important installations in India and details on movement of armed forces to his handlers in Pakistan,” a senior official of the agency told Sputnik.

A statement from the agency revealed that they had conducted a search at the house of Kumbhar on Friday in connection with the case and “found out that he had transferred INR 5,000 ($68 approx.) through Paytm to the account of one Rizwan, which was further handed over to Rashid”.

The amount was allegedly sent to Rashid by Kumbhar on the directions of Pakistan’s Inter- Services Intelligence (ISI) agents in lieu of the information supplied to them by Rashid.

“During a search at Kumbhar’s house, incriminating documents were seized,” NIA officials revealed.
