The Weeknd performed on VMA Awards with the hit, delivering a style similar to that of his music video, wearing a same red jacket and wearing make-up bruises. The show ended with golden fireworks.
"Blinding Lights" topped the Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100, also marking The Weeknd's first single making it to the top of the charts in Germany, remaining there for 10 weeks, with 8 weeks in the UK and 11 weeks in Australia. The song is currently his most successful single.
