Russia's Soyuz-2.1a carrier with Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft was launched on Wednesday from the Baikonur spaceport and is set to reach the International Space Station (ISS) in a record-breaking three hours, owing to its ultrafast two-orbit flight plan, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

Russia's Soyuz MS-17 spacecraft, carrying two Russian cosmonauts and a NASA astronaut, docked at the International Space Station after a record-short flight that lasted three hours and three minutes.

The crew is expected to deliver equipment that will allow to detect and eliminate an air leak, previously discovered in the Russian Zvezda module.
