K-pop goes further each year - top bands from SM entertainment EXO and NCT127 and BTS under Big Hit entertainment have been nominated for the '2020 American Music Awards' in the Favorite Social Artist category.

Popular K-pop bands are nominated alongside such pop idols as Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande. This is the first time EXO and NCT127 have been nominated for the AMA. Social artist nomination is based on the artists' music sales, both digital and physical, radio and streaming performance, activities in social media, and, of course, tours.
And this is the third year for K-pop phenomena BTS, after winning Favorite Social Artist at the 2018 and 3 awards in 2019 - 'Tour of the Year,' 'Favorite Duo or Group—Pop/Rock,' and 'Favorite Social Artist'. This year BTS have also been nominated in “Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock ''.
The Awards are scheduled to be held on November 22nd. The news immediately sparked the fan wars and each side is proving their favs are the best.
