Utrecht police confirmed that two people were detained in connection to an evacuation of the central rail station in the Dutch city of Utrecht, adding that "their involvement is under investigation".
"Following the suspicious situation on #Utrecht#CS : Two suspects have been arrested and their involvement is under investigation. Train traffic will resume as soon as possible", police tweeted.
Earlier on Tuesday, Utrecht police said that the central rail station was cleared due to what was described as "suspicious situation".
Police said that the officers were looking for a "person on the train" without providing additional detail.
"Following a suspicious situation in a train #Utrecht#CS train traffic was blocked and the station was cleared. The police are looking for a person on the train", Utrecht police department tweeted.
