French authorities have launched the evacuation of a Saint-Denis migrant camp, housing around 2,500 people.
The first buses from the prefecture to clear the migrants arrived early in the morning on Tuesday.
Paris firefighting crews have been deployed to the scene as migrants began to burn their belongings before leaving the camp.
Volunteers from the association Solidarité Migrants Wilson also arrived to help dismantle tents and help to collect migrants' belongings.
"The situation is very worrying. We were unable to distribute masks. There are a lot of people here, more than 2,000", Philippe Caro, from Solidarité Migrants Wilson said.
Saint-Denis metro station has been closed and won't be available until 12 a.m. for security reasons.
