Debutants aespa, a new multinational girl band, made by SM Entertainment - the largest entertainment multinational corporation in South Korea - show their dancing and singing talents in their debut music video 'Black Mamba'.
Made in bright neon colours, the video shows members Winter and Karina, Ningning and Giselle in a fantasy world. MV tells about the connection between the young women and their avatars, and how they fight with villains, who appears representing a black mamba.
Wasting no time, the marketing agency also announced the official name for the group's fan club - 'MY' - which will mean “my precious friend”.
The young women are the first all-female band created and managed by SM since the debut of Red Velvet in 2014, and present as physical human women idols and their avatars co-existing both online and in real life.
As the SM business model is well known for its branding innovation, K-pop fans can expect many exciting activities that will be marketed alongside the band, including links to the latest releases of other artists on labels such as NCT, Super M and BoA, and the hope that they will be connected with the newcomers, as it will bring a new universe of branded marketing concepts and retail opportunities for the K-pop industry.
