The speech of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo comes just a week before the present US administration is set to hand over power to President-elect Joe Biden on 20 January.

Sputnik comes live from Washington DC as US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivers remarks during an event organised by the National Press Club this Tuesday, 12 January.

Pompeo is expected to accuse Iran of having links with Al-Qaeda, after reports suggested that US intelligence had disclosed classified information on the matter to the state department.

On Monday, Pompeo announced that US State Department had designated Cuba to its list of State Sponsors of Terrorism.
