A US prosecutor has dropped the drunk driving and reckless driving charges against singer Bruce Springsteen three months after he was purportedly seen drinking and then mounting his motorcycle.
In November 2020, Springsteen was arrested at the Gateway National Recreation Area and charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving and consuming alcohol in a closed area.
During the proceedings, Springsteen did admit that he was aware of the fact that consuming alcohol at the park is illegal, saying in response to questions from assistant US attorney: "I had two small shots of tequila".
The famous rocker ended up being fined $500 by the U.S. Magistrate Anthony Mautone, along with $40 in court fees.
"I think I can pay that immediately, your honor," Springsteen told the judge.
