Blinken's address to US lawmakers is his first since he assumed the role of secretary of state, replacing Mike Pompeo. He is expected to answer questions on US policy regarding Russia, China, and Iran, among other things.

Sputnik is live from Washington, DC, where US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is giving a testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, disclosing the foreign policy goals of the Biden administration.

Biden has previously vowed to reset the US approach to its international partners and "restore US leadership", which he believes was compromised by the Trump administration.
