Multiple countries in the European Union have suspended inoculations with the AstraZeneca vaccine in the wake of reports of blood clotting as a side effect.

Sputnik is live from Brussels, Belgium, where the European Medicines Agency is briefing the media on an ongoing investigation into reports about blood clots in some of those who received the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine.

Iceland and Norway suspended the use of the UK-Swedish drug last week amid concerns over the drug's safety. More nations have since temporarily paused the AstraZeneca rollout, including France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Denmark, and the Netherlands.
